Get Involved
There are many ways ACM members can get involved in our policy work. Whether you have lots of policy experience or are just starting out, the ACM wants you to help shape informed tech policy. You can do this by joining a Policy Committee, writing a Tech Brief, participating in panels, advising on research, or helping members network with other policy professionals. There are a lot of benefits to participating in tech policy, including:
- Have an impact on policy in your region of the world. Policymakers look to ACM to help shape their policies because we are honest brokers of what technology can do and its impact.
- Networking with computing professionals worldwide
- Publishing TechBriefs and research within ACM’s publications.
Depending on where you are from or where you live, there is a committee waiting to hear from you. Committee membership is available to any ACM member in good standing. Be sure your membership is current. Listed below are the standing committees and how to get involved with them. The policy committees are organized by region, with subcommittees focusing on specific topics. As a member, you will be automatically involved at the regional level. Depending on your interests, you can opt into one of the subcommittees.
