Global Technology Policy Council (TPC)
Are you from an international organization looking for technology policy expertise?
The TPC regularly partners with international organizations seeking trusted, independent expertise at the intersection of technology and public policy. We have worked with national governments, the United Nations, international professional societies, and others on a range of engagements, including:
- Speaking at conferences, convenings, and official proceedings
- Reviewing policy documents and providing technical feedback on draft legislation, standards, and regulatory frameworks
- Hosting delegations of government officials and policy professionals for briefings and exchanges
- Participating in working groups and advisory bodies where computing expertise is needed
Our work is grounded in ACM's long-standing commitment to being an honest broker — we bring the computing community's technical knowledge to bear on policy questions without a commercial or political agenda.

Are you an ACM Member who wants to get involved in the TPC?
The Global Technology Policy Council (TPC) sets the agenda for ACM's global policy activities and serves as the central convening point for ACM's interactions with government organizations, the computing community, and the public in all matters of public policy related to computing and information technology. The Council's members are selected from ACM's global membership. It coordinates the activities of ACM's regional technology policy groups and sets the agenda for global initiatives to address evolving technology policy issues.
Interested in joining the Global TPC? Start with a regional committee.
The Global TPC draws its members from people who have already demonstrated a deep commitment to ACM's policy mission through regional committee work. If the Global TPC is your goal, the best path is to get involved at the regional level, through the US Technology Policy Committee, the Europe Technology Policy Committee, or the Expanding Regions Committee, and build from there. The Council's chairs actively look for engaged regional contributors when selecting new members.
Ready to take that first step? Find the regional committee that fits your location and interests below, or email the ACM Public Policy Office if you're not sure where to start.
